The pavilions of the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition

Architecture, history and legacy of monumental Seville
This route invites you to discover one of the most fascinating chapters in Seville’s urban history: the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. Through a walking tour of Avenida de la Palmera and María Luisa Park and its surroundings, we will explore the impressive pavilions built for this international event that transformed the city forever.
We begin at the former Moroccan Pavilion, a jewel of the neo-Arabic style, to embark on an architectural and cultural journey through the pavilions of countries such as Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil, as well as those dedicated to Spanish regions. Along the way, we will analyse the different architectural styles (Neo-Mudejar, regionalist modernism, neo-colonial) and learn about the original use of each building during the exhibition, as well as its current functions.
The tour ends at the iconic Plaza de España, the ultimate symbol of 1929, where we will discover its symbolism, the history of its construction and the reason for its cinematic charm.
An experience for those who love architecture, urban history and spaces with soul. Ideal for rediscovering a monumental and lesser-known Seville, but absolutely essential.
